Are you active in the area of agro-food and/or bio-based economy? Are you working on new technologies and/or new products ? Would you like to know how EUREKA, a pan-European network of funding agencies and the EU can assist you in realizing your ambitions? This is the event for you!

The EUREKA Network in close cooperation with the EuroAgri FoodChain Umbrella would like to invite you to:

Realizing the ETP ambitions  through cooperation with EUREKA

EUREKA, agro-food and bio-based European Technology Platforms (ETPs),

the European Commission and other stakeholders will discuss funding of projects and realizing their ambitions.

Draft Program: link to PDF

This EUREKA Academy event will take place on 27 April 2011 at the EUREKA Secretariat premises - 107 Rue Neerveld, 1200 Brussels.

For both EUREKA and the ETPs, this will be an excellent opportunity to open new doors to a network of funding possibilities, contacts and visibility in the agro-food area. All the stakeholders, actors in R&D&I, will benefit from a lively debate, dialogue and exchange of information. Joint interests, possible synergies and opportunities to realise mutual ambitions can be identified and worked out.

EUREKA can also help ETP members (industry and SMEs) connecting good ideas for innovative products to funds that can speed up their development, through national budgets, or Venture Capitalists – a field where EUREKA is very active at the moment and is establishing promising contacts for future schemes.

The session will thus offer participants new contacts from other initiatives, new ideas on projects, possibilities for cooperation, and information on how EUREKA can bring support.

The media coverage on the Conferences ensured by the EUREKA Secretariat will bring visibility to both the EUREKA Network and the ETPs involved. More information about speakers and detailed agenda to follow shortly.

We look forward to welcoming you at the EUREKA Secretariat for this innovative session.

About EUREKA

EUREKA is an inter-governmental platform uniting 39 European member countries and the European Union, currently chaired by Israel, and facilitating R&D and industrial innovation cooperation across Europe.

Together, members promote international R&D cooperation across Europe, by mobilizing national and private funds for market-oriented projects implemented by Industry, SMEs, research institutes and academia.

EUREKA is now in its 25th year of existence and during this period, has developed a well-established and experienced network of funding agencies, industry and other research actors. EUREKA has and continues to play a role in many exciting developments like HDTV, mobile communication, life sciences and valorisation of biomass etc. Eureka can assist companies and knowledge institutes and the ETP’s in their innovation ambition through connecting technology demand and supply and connecting projects to national funds.

How ETPs relate to EUREKA

The goal that ETPs follow - implementing the SRAs – is very much in line with the EUREKA strategic objective of supporting and extending further its position in the developing ERA, focusing on industrial research and innovation. This is especially true for the case where the SRAs and other ETP activities match the close-to-market parameter that is the basis of EUREKA promoted research activities.

The latest Commission status report on European Technology Platforms suggests the ETPs should add a focus on implementation of the SRAs, strengthening linkages with national research policy actors, and to develop financial strategies to mobilize funding.
